When I’m looking for gifts for my husband, I either look for things that are related to his interests and hobbies, or I get something every guy likes: the latest electronic gadget. I haven’t met a man yet who doesn’t get excited over his GPS or whatever other new toy he’s gotten to play with.

The gift ideas for my husband that I’ve selected for this article come from both categories. These are all things that I think my hubby would like. Your mileage may vary, but hopefully other guys will like them as well.

First of all, while looking for Christmas gifts for my husband, I’m looking for something that will really wow him. I want something expensive enough that he won’t expect it, but not so expensive that I’ll be broke for months trying to catch up. This Panasonic 32-inch LCD TV with iPod dock fits the bill perfectly, and it’s just the right size for our living room. You’ll have to click through to Amazon.com to find out the price because it’s “too low to display,” but let’s just say it’s quite a bit less than I thought it would be. Maybe our old 27″ TV will finally get retired this year.

Some of these gift ideas for my husband were easier to come up with than others. This one jumped out at me mostly because I was browsing for ideas on Amazon.com every time you go there the first thing you see is the Kindle. I know he will like this because he has already downloaded the home computer version and actually uses it. I’d have to get two though, so I won’t feel left out! It’s been on the top of my wish list for a long time.

My hubby is really into geocaching, so one of the best birthday gifts for my husband would be a new GPS. I think he’d really like this Delorme Earthmate PN-60. It has a lot of features but the most important one is of course that it supports paperless geocaching, meaning that if my hubby had this GPS, he could log into his account at Geocaching.com and download the caches he wants to go find.

A list of gifts for my husband would not be complete without a watch. He loves watches, the more expensive and gaudy looking, the better. OK, so his taste in watches and mine don’t match up, but all that matters is that he likes it, right? Unfortunately, I’m a long way from being able to afford this TAG Heuer Men’s Formula 1 Indy 500 Grande date chronograph watch. (Wow, that was a mouthful!) At over $900, it’s going to have to stay on the “wish list” for awhile. I guess he’ll have to settle for that TV.

All right, just two more gifts for my husband and the next one is related to another one of his hobbies: fishing. He hasn’t been fishing lately, but maybe it’s just because he really could use a new fishing rod. This Ready 2 Fish bass fishing rod comes with the reel, some sinkers and a couple of jig heads. Throw in a few lures and he’s good to go.

The last gift for my husband is a RediCheck remote cooking thermometer. This might seem like an odd choice for a guy, but my hubby is going to school to become a chef so this is something he would really like and get plenty of use out of. This meat thermometer is great for guys who like to barbecue because they can program the desired temperature and then walk up to 100 feet away and when the meat is done, the thermometer will send a signal to the receiver that will cause the alarm to sound. This way, your guy can enjoy the party while the meat is cooking without having to hover over the grill.
